SunCal Releases Pricing on First Homes at New Potomac Shores Master-Planned Community

Dumfries, VA (June 11, 2013) – As six model homes near completion, SunCal, one of the largest privately held land developers in the U.S., has announced pricing on phase one homes at its Potomac Shores 1,920-acre mixed-use, master-planned community in Prince William County, Virginia.

NVR purchased 371 home sites ranging from 50- to over 90-feet-wide in 2012 and is now building the first homes in a contemporary interpretation of the Tidewater style honoring 300 years of architectural heritage in coastal Virginia and Maryland.

NVR branded builders will include Ryan Homes and NVHomes. Model homes for six neighborhoods are planned to open later this year. Phase one home prices will include the following:

– Fairways Cove — 169 home sites, six home styles available from the low-$500s
– Fairways Shore — 51 home sites, three home styles available from the mid-$500s
– Fairways Pointe — 41 home sites, three home styles available from the upper-$500s
– Fairways Landing — 27 home sites, two home styles available from the upper-$600s
– Fairways Overlook — 82 home sites, three home styles available from the $800s

Homes at all price levels will be available with views of the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, mature hardwood forests or the Potomac waterfront.

“Potomac Shores is one of the most exciting projects we are working on in America today,” said SunCal Senior Vice President Public Affairs David Soyka. “The combination of a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, the transit-oriented development and the natural beauty all within a stone-s throw of the nation’s capital make Potomac Shores one of the best opportunities on today’s market.”

Planned as a resort-residential community, Potomac Shores is located 30 miles south of downtown Washington D.C. near Interstate 95 on rolling, forested land with two miles of shoreline along the Potomac River.

Potomac Shores is a transit-oriented, mixed-use development and will feature residential, commercial, hospitality, marina and civic uses in a pedestrian-friendly environment. A future, on-site Virginia Rail Express (VRE) commuter rail station will be located in the community’s new town center, providing residents with convenient access to Washington, D.C. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course will open for public play in the spring of 2014 and will offer a new 7,500 square-foot clubhouse resembling a stately Virginia manor in keeping with the community’s architectural theme.

The golf course is only one of Potomac Shore’s many amenities. There are plans for a five-star resort across from the golf course, a 450-slip marina near the Town Center, numerous athletic fields and courts throughout the development, two schools and the VRE commuter train station in the Town Center. Miles of hiking and biking trails weave throughout 1,000 acres of the forested property.

NVR homebuilding operations serve 27 metropolitan areas in 15 states, including Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.
