The Power of Strategic Partners
SunCal's passion for protecting the environment is shared by numerous local organizations. Whenever possible, we form strategic partnerships with these influential groups to maximize the natural resources within and around our communities.
SummerWind Ranch and the Yucaipa Valley Water District
SunCal worked with the Yucaipa Valley Water District to ensure sufficient water will be available to new residents of SummerWind Ranch. This water-efficient community will require 40 percent less domestic water than most neighborhoods due to its native landscaping and use of reclaimed irrigation water.
Linking Delta Coves to the California Delta
At Delta Coves in Northern California, a complex engineering feat created a navigable waterway that provides fast-water boating access to San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. To breach the levee and garner federal, state and local approvals, SunCal worked closely with the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Westport at Mandalay Bay Wetlands Restoration
When SunCal built the harborside community of Westport at Mandalay Bay in Oxnard, California, we partnered with the US Army Corps of Engineers to construct an intertidal mud flat habitat and salt marsh habitat for several shoreline birds, encouraging wildlife to return to the newly re-vegetated site.
