The school, which will be officially named in the coming months, is set to open in the fall of 2021.

The sun peaked out just as the ceremony got underway at the scenic site where construction has begun.

A peek inside the new “Potomac Shores” middle school

Prince William County officials held a ground-breaking ceremony Thursday, May 9, for the new middle school under construction at Potomac Shores.

The $52.4 million school will use a new middle school design. Moseley Architects designed the new middle school and provided these renderings of what the new school will look like inside.

Prince William officials break ground on new middle school at Potomac Shores

Prince William officials ceremoniously broke ground Thursday on the county’s 17th middle school, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2021 at Potomac Shores.

The $52.4 million new middle school is under construction on a 52.5-acre parcel across from John Paul the Great High School.
