WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Things are picking up steam at the Potomac Shores mixed-use development in Woodbridge.
California-based developer SunCal has just sold 371 residential lots to Northern Virginia builder NVR, Inc., according to PR Newswire.
The lots range from 5,000 to 9,000 square feet and an additional 362 lots are for sale. Model homes from NV Homes, NVR Legacy and Ryan Homes will be open by next spring as will be the Jack Nicklaus-designed 18-hole golf course, according to the press release.
Plans have been approved for nearly 4,000 residential units and 3.7 million square feet of commercial uses. Some of the residential units will be in the planned town center, which will also feature a Virginia Railway Express station.
“This sale to NVR marks a significant milestone in the development of this premier destination community,” stated SunCal principal Frank Cappello in the release.
California-based developer SunCal purchased the 1,000-plus acre property late last summer after two previous developers scrapped plans to build the mixed use, golf course community in the last decade-plus.
SunCal recently submitted comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning applications to the Prince William County Planning Office. However, no public hearing with the Planning Commission has been scheduled for the rezoning, according to Prince William County’s development application schedule.
