Irvine-based land developer SunCal has acquired ShadowGlen, a housing community currently under development near Austin. SunCal plans to continue developing the master-planned neighborhood in Manor, Texas, which, when finished, will add 3,000 homes to SunCal’s residential portfolio.
Each of SunCal’s developments is designed to provide a wide variety of housing types, styles and designs that meet the diverse needs of the community, according to the company. SunCal’s comprehensive development plans include amenities such as schools, parks, places of worship, retail establishments, restaurants and other recreational facilities that create for their residents, the perfect place to call home.
Construction of ShadowGlen began in 2003; more than 700 homes have since been sold. The housing community’s amenities also include a four-acre water park, recreation center and an 18-hold golf course designed by Bechtol Russel Gold Design. The state-of-the-art course was expanded in 2007 with a new golf clubhouse with a pro shop and restaurant. Upon completion, ShadowGlen will also include several beautiful walking trails and lush parkland to be enjoyed by residents.
“We’re very pleased to acquire this exceptional development in the Austin market, which is one of the fastest-growing areas in the nation,” said Randy Teteak, SunCal’s executive vice president. “This community offers homes that are attractively priced, it is a short commute from downtown Austin and residents can enjoy a host of excellent amenities.”
